Getting Plex to Direct Play in a Web Browser.
Plex is available on numerous devices, including all modern web browsers. There are a couple different options for accessing Plex in a browser:
- http://[Local Plex Media Server IP Address]:32400/web
Once you have the Web Gui up, use the settings below to insure you are playing your media at original quality.
Open Plex in your web browser. From the home screen, click on the settings icon in the top right hand corner of the screen.
On the settings screen, click on “Quality”. Then change the settings as follows:
- Automatically adjust quality (Beta) – Unchecked
- Video Quality – Maximum
- Play smaller videos at original quality – Checked
- Under “Home Stream” uncheck “Use recommended settings”.
- Video Quality – Maximum
If you have issues watching media at “Maximum” settings, you might have to drop the quality level down until you no longer have buffering.
